A Personalised Therapeutic Approach
In a safe and welcoming place, let's take time to centre on you, the expert in your life.
With gentleness and compassion I offer a commitment to empathetic listening. There is a universality in suffering, but we each have a very personal narrative of distress.
Grounded in a humanistic approach I work with the evidenced-based principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (endorsed by the World Health Organization). Attunement, creativity and psychological flexibility are at the core of my work. We will focus on what's happened to you rather than "what's wrong with you".
Perhaps you may arrive with concerns relative to anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, performance, panic or pain. Maybe being 'stuck' and distant, or, detached from the kind of life you would like to lead is creating distress and emotional dysregulation.
We will look at you as a whole person, consider the story of self, resilience, culture and family context and advocate for a reframing of how we can best support your psychological wellbeing.
As an accredited ACT practitioner I blend experiential learning, metaphor, mindfulness and contextual formulation as strategies for change and growth.
Let's aim to illuminate shadows, befriend the nervous system and co-create an adaptive psychological flexibility.
